Back To Church Sunday 2010 is on 26 September 2010

‘Come with me’

Do you realise that Back To Church Sunday is the largest global invitational event and it can happen at a venue near to you?

Welcome to the 2010 Back to Church Sunday page on the Diocese of Rochester website.

This page will be regularly updated whenever I have news regarding trainings, ordering whatever that I think will be of use to you.

Back To Church Sunday has made it – Armstrong and Miller, who are well known comedians featured it on their TV programme late last year! When that kind of thing happens – then it has to be good! If you want to view the video on the Back To Church website - click here

Back To Church Sunday values –
• Back To Church Sunday is all about the people who are not here.
• We aim to reach the people who are not here through the people who are.
• We believe success isn’t a percentage, a number or a line on a graph. Success is one person inviting one person.
• We best support success when we all act together as One Big Church: invitation on the ground, invitation in the air – one message on one day.

Back To Church Sunday does this in partnership with Traidcraft and the tea and coffee is sourced and packed in India, the T- shirts the same and then shipped over here. The paper they use is also ethically resourced. This means that we are having a positive impact upon the other side of the world.

Making it happen in Rochester Diocese

I know that most of you participating will have been to the trainings in previous years but this year, we aim to make them different and as before, there are FREE.

This year apart from telling you about the importance of the ’welcome and invitation’ we are going to provide you with some ideas for Post Back to Church Sunday such as ‘Coming Home for Christmas’, Creating a Culture of Welcome and Everybody Welcome’

The training dates and venues are as follows -
21 April at St Augustine, Bromley Common; 4 May at St Philip, Tunbridge Wells and 5 May at St Justus, Rochester. All 7.30pm for7.45pm start

The order sheetA new procedure has been put in place for ordering packs ( click on image to see what the order packs contain)
This year will be ordered online directly though the Back To Church website - click here

Simply the procedure is this –
The person responsible in the church for Back To Church Sunday will fill in the order form online but not pay.

They will receive a confirmation email with details of dispatch and billing along with a password to enable them to download high resolution logos etc.

All money is to be sent to the champion as before, because the champion will invoice you!
Each Diocesan Champion will be notified at various times throughout the run-up to BTCS as to who has ordered and then can issue an invoice for a cheque – (payable to Rochester Diocese) which will be sent to the Champion and then we proceed as before.

The closing date is 15 June 2010 and people, who order after the supplies have run out, will be encouraged to sign up for BTCS 2011. Below is the list for those churches participating in 2010.

NOTE
If the person responsible for ordering does not have access to a computer, then I can order for them but I would need them to contact me with their order PLUS a cheque – 01474 812952
