Evangelists'
Testimonies
Ann cannot
remember a time when she did not believe in God. Christine Loker was brought up in a home where Jesus was spoken about
but her parents didn't actually attend church on a regular basis. ‘From hungry caterpillar to butterfly!’ is how Dee describes
herself! Geoff Baker
always thought Christians were very odd people and most of the those he
had met were either pompous or very sad. Janet begins
by saying that when people write testimonies they often begin with life
before they came to know Jesus, is this how it was for her? Read what she
says...... Jean Kerr’s story is an ordinary story of a child growing up in
a poor but loving home. In other ways it is an extraordinary story of God's
amazing love and intervention. Jenny Silver, after 8 years of marriage, found herself facing a divorce
but God never deserted her! Another Jenny
but a different story.
Jenny was able to give to God the anger and resentment she felt after
her son died in tragic circumstances. Judy Etheridge retired
from teaching and thought that she would plan the rest of her life! She
was excited by the thought of choosing to do something
completely different. For Kim, life began at 40!!! Laury did
not believe in God at the time other than to use Him in an emergency. Lorna thinks
"I’m afraid my testimony is rather boring. I was bought up
in a Christian home and was taken to church as a baby and been going ever
since.” The only reason Lorraine was christened Anglican was just
to stop her mother’s mother in law getting her own way and having
her christened into the another faith. Margaret says that it is said that the Christian faith is like being on
a journey. Not one for visions, Roger
was laying quietly in bed when he received what can only be described
as a vision. Sally rebelled against
every one; she got into awful trouble in school and did the opposite to
what she was told. She'd be beaten for her bad behaviour
but she didn't care. Sheila says that her teenage years were rebellious ones, ending with a
disastrous marriage which lasted for just nine months. There was no Jesus in Shirley’s life until she married Don, an architect. How did the humble ballcock and ghosts lead Stephen to Christ? Trevor felt so awful that he would have bathed in cold custard or anything
else to feel better. 'Do U know What God’s Plan Is 4 U'? Veronica thought
she did until…….. God does not let you stay still as Vicky found – He kept nudging
her to do things she didn’t think she was capable of! God still dusts Willie down,
and answers his prayers although not always in the way Willie expects. Yvonne’s journey
with God started by attending Sunday School, but she didn’t know
why!
