Rejesus

London Instiutue for Contemporary Christianity

Membership:
Revd. Ross Garner (Mission Growth Team Leader) - Chair; Revd. Canon Jean Kerr (Canon Missioner – Bishop’s Officer for Mission); Revd Daren Medway; Martin Hayward (URC representative); Revd Simon Heron: Revd David Johnston; Sister Gillian Martin (Church Army representative); Veronica Rees (Evangelist) and Sheila Speirs (Evangelist)

Purpose:
The group is set up to provide support for the Bishop’s Officer for Mission and the Asst Director of Mission as they undertake the work of the department.

The group is charged with the task of supporting and enabling local mission. This happens in a variety of ways.
• Through the planning and running of day conferences on aspects of mission, evangelism and parish development open to the churches of the diocese.
• Through supporting local churches involved in the Mission Weekends and Growing Healthy Churches programmes as required.
•The group aids the Diocese in its reflection on and engagement with Fresh Expressions of Church and pioneering ministries.

The group members read, discuss and share ideas and information about mission and evangelism, thinking creatively and strategically about opportunities for mission and evangelism within the diocese.

The group keeps a watching brief for developments in different ways of being church and on emerging pioneer ministries.
